With just days to go until what is supposed to be the spookiest day/night of the year, Sutton-on-Sea is gearing up for the action! Shops, community groups and residents are demonstrating their community spirit and ingenuity. It's not hard to find a pumpkin of one variety or another. The hardware shop even has patchwork ones! Long gone are the days where, as kids, we had to spend hours trying to hollow out a turnip to mae a halloween lantern!
If you, the family or the kids want to really 'freak out' this year, then you're spoiled for choice on the evening of 31st October with two great events to choose from.
Meridale Kidz Klub
The Meridale Kidz Klub annual fancy dress Halloween Party returns once again, 6.30 - 800pm. Expect the usual frightening fun and ghoulish games. Open to all children 6 to 12 yrs of age and non-Kidz Klub membersare most welcome. There are prizes for the scariest fancy dress and admission is just £2. I'll be donning my Tesco finest Halowe'en T-shirt to help judge the fancy dress, which will have to go some way to topping last year's showing.
Sutton-on-Sea Residents Association
The association is holding a disco and party night at Sutton Rovers Football Club, 6 - 9pm. Children must be accompanied by an adult, so a great opportunity to make it a family occasion. There's a free hotdog and spooky cupcake too, for children who are in costume.
If you've taken note of the timings for both these events, you'll probably have worked out that you can really make a night of it and have your childen spend time at both .... Hubble, Bubble, Double Trouble!
