These are some of the ways I propose to identify and champion the excellence and potential of our community:
- A planned programme of visits and interactions with community groups, clubs and service providers to identify and champion their successes, inclusivity, positive impact on community life and individuals and share excellent practice. If you are involved in any of these and would like to meet with me sooner, rather than walit for me to get in touch, please contact me.
- Liaise with elected representatives to identify initiatives they are aware of or involved in at all levels of local government that will bring positive benefit to the community and amplify these via social media, this website and my other interactions with individuals and the community at large.
- Lobby and work with elected representatives to actively support activities and initiatives that contribute positively, and are of benefit, to the community.
- Offering relevant expertise and skills to Town Council working parties.
- Make myself available at the Meridale InfoCentre sessions between 10:00 and 12:00 on the first Friday of every month, beginning on October 6th 2023. Residents are invited to meet with me for an informal chat.
- Making the role of young people in the community one of my early priorities. There's a lot currently happening locally in regard to their needs. We have some talented youngsters that deserve our support. They will be our future, which doesn't just happen without nurturing.
- Invite comments from residents, groups, clubs and organisations for publication on this website.
- Highlighting the successes of Sutton-on-Sea on this website and social media.
There are some things that I am unable to do:
- Taking on casework that would usually be carried out by elected Town, District and County Councillors.
- Benefit financially or in kind from any community involvement.
