I asked residents about what sort of presence should the community that surrounds it have in this new space and what alternatives to holiday lodges could be considered for phase 2. Here were some suggestions.
A more permanent exhibition space; a place where art and craft work could be displayed, collections, memorabilia or photographs; a space where local groups could exhibit; Meridale can do these events (and does them well) but somewhwere that displays etc can stay up longer.
Phase 2 holiday lodges - Modern chalets that can be hired daily for families; the modern design would appeal to a younger clientele or possibly for small meeting areas, even pop up office or spaces; bike hire would be a marvellous facility.
