My Journey

Chris Flanagan delivers nomination papers

My nomination papers delivered and accepted

Yesterday I drove over the Lincolnshire Wolds to ELDC's new HQ at the Hub, Horncastle to deliver my nomination papers.

The Hub is on the redeveloped site of Horncastle College and is very impressive.  I've spent a lot of time at the former college in the past: headteacher meetings, attending and running education courses and lobbying Victoria Atkins MP about secondary education in Mablethorpe when her office was based there.  Perhaps the most enjoyable part of any visit was the superb catering!  However, I digress .....

Thanks to the very welcoming and efficient Emma Willoughby, my papers were quickly scrutinised and approved with a letter giving Notice of Validity of Nomination presented to me.  So that was it - the firing gun had gone off and I am now an official candidate!

I have no idea at present how many others will be joining me to ask for your vote on 24th August.  I do, however, hope that it is a broad, diverse field.  I believe the electorate of Sutton-on-Sea deserve to be able to make their choice from a strong list of candidates.  I'm immensely looking forward to presenting my case for election and engaging with you all in the coming weeks.
